GE PEM31SFSS 800W Countertop Microwave
GE PEM31SFSS is a sleek and modern 800-watt power countertop microwave oven with smart user-friendly features. For defrosting you just put in the food weight and the ideal power level and the time for defrosting will be set automatically. Same works for cooking with the convenient sensor cooking controls.
It is also available in all white, the PEM31DFWW model. GE PEM31SFSS Microwave Oven is easy on the eyes with its beautiful modern design, weighs 33 pounds and measures 12.9 x 24 x 12.1 inches with 1.1 cubic feet capacity. It offers plenty of space inside and you can fit in a large plate on the turnable in this microwave oven. You also have the option to switch off the turntable and put even a large pan instead. The food is cooked, heated or defrosted evenly on the turntable.
With the control lockout, activation by accident will be avoided. It has the “Add 30 seconds” button to add time to your cooking without pausing. The kitchen timer will help keep you on track. It has a ceramic burner and has a stainless steel exterior, can be used both as a countertop standalone or built-in microwave. The sleek matching trim kit or the hanging kit are available for optional purchase, to help you free up some counter space.
A couple of customers mentioned a GE Microwave paint peeling problem. The company claims the paint is not toxic and does not cause a risk to your health if ingested in little amounts. They contacted the customer support team about the issue and one of them was issued a coupon for a new microwave. The stainless steel used on 
this GE microwave is not smudge proof and can show fingerprints but easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. You can’t really turn off or lower the volume of the beep sound of this microwave, but it is not very loud anyway.
Please don’t think this microwave is weak or slow because it has 800W power. It works rather efficiently and even faster than some of the 1000+ watt microwave ovens. The keypad is simple and intuitive but the buttons need to be pressed harder than normal to make them work. It runs much quieter than other similar models on the market (maybe because of the low wattage) and the beep sound is normal. It is a decent microwave oven for a compact size.
