Emerson 8, 12 and 16 Bottle Thermoelectric Wine Coolers

Emerson FR948BK 8 Bottle Wine Cooler

Black Emerson FR948BK is a mid-2017 release best selling 8-bottle thermoelectric wine cooler with a sleek countertop design for those that lack space in their homes. They can also get the slightly larger 12 cubic feet capacity 12 bottle ER102001 (35 dollars more) or the 16 bottle ER102002 (65 dollars more) of the same model cooler.

They have the LED-backlit display panels with digital touch control buttons and interior white LED lights. You can see your bottles clearly through the transparent glass door and choose one before opening it. This way you won’t let the cool air escape. There are two durable chrome racks on the 8-bottle version that is designed for kitchen countertops. It weighs 19.2 pounds and measures 19.8 x 10.8 x 16.2 inches.

You’ll find three chrome racks on the 12-bottle version that weighs 26 pounds with the measurements of 17.1 x 18.9 x 20.1 inches. And the 16 cubic feet capacity 16-bottle Emerson also has three chrome racks that are larger to accommodate four on each, weighs 30.4 pounds and measures 20.2 x 19 x 14.2 inches. These are compact thermoelectric wine coolers without compressors, so they are vibration-free and run quietly.

You can certainly put them in a cabinet that is large enough to accommodate them as long as you have five inches on the sides and back and a hole at the back for air ventilation. You can set them to the lowest temperature of 57 degrees Fahrenheit which shall be good enough for your white and red bottles.

110-120V AC and 60Hz are the rated voltage and frequencies and you can plug them into any regular home outlet without problems. According to some customers, the Emerson coolers works so quietly that you will not even notice they are there and others commented on the noise level. We do not have the unit on hand but we’d assume it would be quiet due to the lack of compressor.

The number of bottles you can fit in these three models are for the regular Bordeaux type bottles and you’re welcome to remove a shelf if you want to put anything larger or weird shaped. The temperature is shown in Fahrenheit on the blue LED-backlit small temp display and there is no Celcius converter. And you have the temperature up and down buttons, as well as the light button to turn on or off the white, LED light. One of the customers commented that there is no Off switch but it is not really common to have this on wine or other beverage coolers. Good value for money overall.
