Remington Media Stand- Mission Oak, MS9907
The mission oak Remington Media Stand MS9907 by Southern Enterprises is a great piece of solid and durable furniture with a beautiful contemporary design and a bit of a lovely rustic charm. It scores 4.4/5 out of a total of 366 customer ratings as of today, indicating a fair amount of customer satisfaction.
Please note that the box of the shipped product will show what’s inside but is well packaged and an easy to open packaging. It weighs about 76 pounds and measures 52 x 15.75 x 24 inches as assembled and you can put up to a 50-inch size flat panel TV on it as it can support up to 85 lb. at the top.
In practice, people have successfully put their 54 and 60-inch TV’s as well as soundboards at the front and this shall not pose a problem as long as their TV is not wider than the media stand as you wouldn’t want the TV hanging off the edges. It can probably carry a 70-inch TV too in terms of weight but the size of the TV can be a problem.
You can put up to 15 pounds of weight on each cabinet shelf and 20 lb. of weight on the media shelf. You have the large open center storage with two sections with the cord management in the middle at the rear, and two glass paned side storage sections. There are a total of eight glass panes, each of which measures 5 x 8 inches.
The side storage cabinets measure 13 x 13 x 19 inches and the center section is 20 x 14 x 19 inches. You can’t really fit in the old DVD players on the side shelves but the new ones will be OK or you can just use them for your DVD collection etc. The fact that you can adjust the three shelves in these makes this unit a bit more versatile.
It is made of solid rubberwood and MDF with a reddish but kind of dark oak finish just like in the photos at the top on Amazon.com. Obviously, the colors on different computer and phone screens may be different. It is mostly solid wood on the media center with wood doors, particle board with veneer on the sides and shelves and you have 1/8-inch plywood with veneer on it at the rear.
The Remington Media Stand is made in China and will require some assembly that is easy enough and shouldn’t take more than one to two hours. The glass-paned doors will probably be the only thing that comes assembled. The delivery may take up to a couple of weeks, but please be patient as it is worth it. This is a rather robust piece of furniture overall and there is a center leg underneath the media stand that you can’t see in the photo. It looks really good for a pressed wood product and will fit in nicely with your other furniture in the room.
