WhisperKOOL SC PRO 4000 Wine Cooling Unit
WhisperKOOL SC PRO 4000 is a brand new release professional level wine cellar cooling system with a cooling capacity of up to 1000 cubic feet area when the cellar is completely sealed and insulated with a decent vapor barrier. You have 4 different size options in the SC Pro series, including the SC PRO 2000 with 300 cu. ft, SC PRO 3000 with 650 cu. ft. and the SC PRO 8000 with a 2000 cu. ft. cellar size capacity.
The SC PRO 4000 we’re reviewing on this page weighs 65 pounds and measures 17.5L x 14.25W x 15.75H inches and you need to do the heat load calculation before choosing a cooling system. Because of the high value of this product they need your signature during the delivery. WhisperKool recommends that you ask a cellar professional for advice before creating a wine cellar in your house. The digital LCD-backlit has the auto thermostat at the front along with the Power, Set and Temp up and down buttons.
In the box, you’ll get a one-piece mounting bracket, coated evaporator coil and front or back power switch depending on the model. The SC PRO 4000 is claimed to be the lowest noise cooling system ever produced by WhisperKool. You can expect very good efficient cooling performance with the advanced airflow, great condensate management and optimal metering for cooler longevity. The modern R-134a compressor with 0.88HP power (115V, 3.7amps) works very efficiently and quietly without doing many cycles. Like the other SC Pro models it offers 55°F cellar temperature with up to 85°F condenser air intake temperature.
For outside ventilation you are recommended to get an external grille cover and the temperature must stay below 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The exhaust air can be ducted if you get a ducting kit at an additional cost. The unit can exhaust outside your house to outdoors or into the next room inside your house. It is an easy to set up self-contained cooling unit. It comes with a liquid temp measuring bottle probe to measure the temperature of your wine bottles 
precisely in the wine cellar. This way you will get a more accurate picture than just measuring the cellar temperature.
The blue-backlit digital controller is found at the front of the Pro 4000 and has the advanced system protection with built-in sensors and alarms to let you know when certain criteria are not achieved. With the revamped fan system of a centrifugal blower that generates a solid airflow in the cellar, it ensures equal distribution of cool air efficiently and quietly. The brand new built-in condensate management system will evaporate as much as 3 ounces of condensate per hour. The drain line is not a direct need but an extra protection item in this new condensate management. The only negative we can see is that the mounting bracket can be a little hard to attach to this cooling system and they could design a better one. Otherwise it is a very robust cellar cooling system with great new features.
