KitchenAid KFP0718CU 7-Cup Food Processor
Contour silver KitchenAid KFP0718CU is a 7-cup food processor with an innovative design for chopping, shredding, pureeing and slicing a variety of ingredients. It scores 4.3 out of 5 stars by ten customers at the time of this article. The two other color options you have are empire red and matte black.
This KitchenAid Food Processor weighs 6.6 pounds and measures only 15.35H x 9.65W x 7.87D inches. As a compact kitchen appliance with a small footprint it will not occupy much space and can have a permanent spot on the counter. Or you can put it away in one of your drawers or cupboard after cleaning it as the disc and the blade fit in the bowl very comfortably, making it even easier to store.
It is easy to clean as it comes with the parts that are safe to be washed in a dishwasher, but may take a bit more effort to clean the parts by hand. It is easy to assemble the twist-free bowl with a latched lid with a single-click. This means you do not unscrew or twist the bowl to attach to the base, you simply put it on or lift it off with one click. The processor is attached to the base very easily and the transparent lid has a convenient latch that opens and closes very easily.
The new KitchenAid Food Processor is easy on the eyes with its attractive design and colors. It is compact in size but works very well- does what it is supposed to do. It comes with a regular shredding and chopping blade that transforms into a slicing blade by reversing it. Please note that it is designed for home use and not in commercial settings. 7 cup capacity may be more than enough for some people and not for others. The full size food processors are often between 10 to 15 cups. And they may want to have a look at the alternatives at Amazon.com.
There is a convenient cord wrap storage at the base bottom. We like the easier use of twist-free bowl attachment, but would it make the bowl less safe to use as some of you might think? Probably not, as the unit comes with certain security features that will shut off the motor. It is great that the blade and the black drive adapter are separate pieces, for easier cleaning.
This being a budget priced model, both the handle and the lid hinges are made of plastic and can be broken easily. The lid latch is luckily made of metal. The quality of motor and the mechanical bits in the base are more important and there is no need to be concerned about them. If you want to do a larger job with this one you ‘ll just need to empty the bowl more often than a full-size processor. But having a heavy-duty motor makes things easier and this KitchenAid is powerful enough to perform a variety of food processing tasks with ease. It is a sturdy unit at affordable price that you can use it daily in your own kitchen or gift it to someone else. We highly recommend it at the current price level.
